The Final Chapter views the political development of Rhodesia from early occupation and the granting of self-government in 1924.  The political maneuvering over the next 40 years resulted in the break-up of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. This gave rise to the African Nationalist movements and lead to a long and bloody civil war, following Rhodesia's Unilateral Declaration of Independence on November 11th 1965

The Final Chapter describes both the military and the civilian aspect of the war. The tragedy of this period in Rhodesia is illustrated very strongly. One is afforded more than a brief glimpse of society at the height of the war and learns to appreciate the magnitude of the role played by the military in defence of the people. By the late 1970s the 'bush war' had enveloped the entire country and desperate measures were taken by both sides

The Final Chapter is an authentic and fascinating record of the final two decades of Rhodesian military history
